Travelling around the world does not necessarily involve visiting every single country of this beautiful planet. For this world tour, Géraldine leaves eastwards to return from the West. The countries that she is going to visit are more or less set, but they can vary according to the geopolitical conditions of certain countries at the time of departure.
To summarise, the journey is going to be as follows: France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Ex-Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, - ferry to Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, - ferry to Chile, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Guinea, and back to France by sea.
As the crossing of Burma is forbidden to all foreign cars, Hachille is placed in a container and transported to Singapore by ferry, while the team covers the same distance by plane. The same applies to the crossing of the Pacific to Chile.
The crossing from Iran to Vietnam remains the only uncertainty. The political situation in Iran does not allow, for the time being, certitude as to whether this country can be crossed in 2007. As far as Vietnam is concerned, the entry to this country with a foreign car is not yet guaranteed. Numerous travellers have recently visited Vietnam in a camping car registered in France by entering from Cambodia without encountering any major difficulties. But the situation can change very rapidly. In this case we will not pass through Vietnam but we will start the crossing to America right after touring Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.
